Buffalo Wings and Brews

Team: so cute… SO CUTE!!!

Once we made the decision to leave Canada and spend the rest of the week back in the states, we had a few days to kill in the northeast before we made our way to our next stop in Buffalo, NY.  So after leaving Vermont, we stopped in the finger lakes region of the NY at what turned out to be an awesome RV park in Oneida, NY, owned and operated by the Turning Stone Casino.  Trae and I aren’t much for gambling, but the casino was actually a giant campus packed with some amazing bars and restaurants, and the best part: we had a free shuttle from our campsite to any of the locations on the casino grounds!  We would definitely recommend staying at the The Villages at Turning Stone and would absolutely stay there again if ever in the area.

After 2 days of great wifi and clean facilities, we were caught up on work, our laundry was done, and we hit the road and headed to Buffalo to see my cousin Nick and explore the city and Niagara Falls.  We had some amazing quality time with Nick and his friends as they showed us around the city and grabbed some delicious bites in Buffalo (Duff’s Wings, Pan-American Grill, Breakin Eggs Creperie). We even squeezed in a comedy show (almost a tradition now when we spend time with Nick!) at Helium, an epic round of trivia at Brennan’s Bowery Bar, and a few hours of arcade games at Dave & Busters!

It was mostly overcast during our stay, but the rain finally gave way to clear skies on our last day in Buffalo, just in time for us to head to Niagara Falls.  It was suggested that we cross over the Canadian border to view the falls from there, but instead we opted to take a ride on the famous Maid of the Mist to get a (very wet) view up close to both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.  We totally recommend coughing up the cash for this tour – it really does provide a unique opportunity to experience the 3,160 tons of water that flow over these powerful falls every second! It was the perfect way to wrap up our stay in the Buffalo area.
